Using the Macintosh Printer Driver

Executing Special Functions

Printer Profile
This selects the profile to suit the type of document. Generally, you will use 
the Recommended by Canon setting. (Only active when ColorSync is 
selected.)

Recommended by Canon lists the color features that are suitable for the 
BJ cartridge, paper size, print quality, halftoning, etc.

Gamma Correction
Gamma Correction enables the adjustment of halftone contrast between 
perfect white and perfect black.

If you want to adjust the contrast, click the Gamma Correction checkbox to 
place a check in this box and move the slider left or right to set a value.

When Gamma Correction is not to be performed, clear the check mark from 
the checkbox.

Color Balance
The color intensity is set separately for cyan, magenta, yellow, and black.

The color intensity is adjusted by dragging the slide bar for each color to the 
right or left. For example, if you feel that the blue (cyan) component is too 
strong, drag that slider in the negative direction (to the left). On the other 
hand, if you think that the blue (cyan) is too weak, drag the slider in the 
positive direction (to the right). Once you have made the adjustment, the 
balance of the four colors changes and the overall color tone changes as 
well. It’s a good idea to make such adjustments in very small steps.

Density
Moving the slider to the right increases the density while moving it to the left 
decreases the density.
