Routine Maintenance

Replacing a BJ Cartridge

If print quality remains poor even after replacing the BJ tanks and cleaning the print head,
the print head is worn out and you must replace the BJ cartridge.

Canon recommends using the following BJ cartridges with the S400
printer:

• BC-33e Color BJ Cartridge

• BC-34e Photo BJ Cartridge (optional)

• BC-30e Black BJ Cartridge (optional)

Make sure that the printer is turned on and open the front cover. The
cartridge holder moves to the left.
