Sending Faxes
Maximising Image Quality
Canon’s Ultra High Quality (UHQ) and auto-halftone imaging technology allows
you to send and receive faxes that have print quality very close to that of the
originals.
Resolution
The MultiPASS L90 has two resolutions:
J
STANDARD
This is the best setting for normal printed or typewritten text. It allows the fastest
document transmission. To use it, press the FINE/STANDARD button until the
STANDARD lamp lights.
J
FINE
Fine provides twice the resolution of Standard, and is a good setting for
documents with small text. To use it, press the FINE/STANDARD button until
the FINE lamp lights.
When making copies, the unit automatically adjusts to FINE.
Auto Halftone
This setting tells the MultiPASS L90 whether the document includes halftone
images, or is composed only of black text on a white background.
When Auto Halftone is ON the unit automatically adjusts to accurately
reproduce documents that contain halftone images (such as photographs) or
documents with a dark background (newspaper, for example). Set to OFF when
you send faxes containing only black text on a white background.
