Maintenance

Cleaning the Scanner Components

Periodically check the scanning glass and rollers.

When you unplug the unit, be sure to plug it in again as soon as possible: without
power, it will retain any data in image memory for about an hour. After this, the
data will be lost.

1. Unplug the unit.

2. Open the operation panel.

The operation panel does not open all the way. Be careful not to force it open.

3. Use a soft, dry clean cloth to clean the scanning glass and rollers (shaded

areas).

If the document scanning glass and rollers are dirty, the documents you
send or print will be dirty, too.

J

Clean with a soft cloth that will not scratch the glass or rollers.
