Getting Started

Connecting an Extension Phone or Answering Machine

1. To connect an extension phone or answering machine to the unit, connect the

end of the extension cord to the jack marked

.

J

You only need to use the extension/answering machine jack (the middle one)
when you are using a single phone line for both voice and fax
communications. The extension telephone does not ring for incoming calls.

J

If the connector does not fit the jack or does not seat properly, contact your
local Canon authorised service representative or telephone company to have
the correct connector installed.
