Getting Started
Connecting the Parallel Cable
Your MultiPASS L90 has an 8-bit, bi-directional, parallel interface port which
allows you to use it with IBM PCs and compatible computers. You need to
purchase a bi-directional parallel interface cable from your dealer. We
recommend a IEEE 1284 compliant cable.
For reliable communications between your computer and the MultiPASS L90, it
is recommended that you use a cable no more than 2 metres long.
Connect the MultiPASS L90 to your computer as follows:
1. Make sure the computer is turned off and the MultiPASS L90 unplugged.
2. Connect the parallel cable to your MultiPASS L90.
J
Align the cable connector with the interface port so that the shapes match.
J
Gently press the cable connector into the port.
J
Secure the cable connector by snapping the two wire clips (on either sides
of the port) into the cable connector.
3. Connect the other end of the parallel cable to the parallel interface port on
your computer.
J
When the MEMORY lamp flashes, printing data is being transmitted from
your computer to the MultiPASS L90 through the parallel cable.
J
Do not disconnect the parallel cable when the MultiPASS L90 is plugged in.
Doing so can cause a malfunction or damage your unit.
