If you have removed the developing assembly, be sure to place it on a clean sheet of paper to protect it from dust.

14.2.1.3.1 Stray Toner Along Fine Lines

<Cause>
The moisture held in paper evaporates in response to the heat from the fixing assembly, thus causing toner to fly
astray. This problem tends to occur when paper has low resistance and in a high temperature/high humidity
environment.
<Field Remedy>
Use the following service mode item to decrease the developing bias, thus suppressing the symptom:
COPIER>OPTION>BODY>FIX-SMR
0: default
1: decrease the developing bias by a single step (-20 V)
2: decrease the developing bias by 2 steps (-40 V)
If '2' is selected, the lines can become thinner.
