Settings
Setting the Splitting Thickness
The model C 520 splitters can be set for splitting stock from 0.2 to 8 mm in thick-
ness.
The thickness can be read on the digital display PN1 (par. 6-2)
For setting use knob E located on the LH arm.
The displayed thickness is approximate as it depends on various factors such as
hardness and structure of the stock,pressure on the feed roll, size of the part.
Setting the Bottom Feed Roll
In normal working position there should be a minimum gap of 0.1 mm between the
bottom roll and the knife
This gap set by Camoga by means of screws in the lower arm shall not be altered.
Depending on the splitting thickness the roll can be lowered by means of handwheel
M (fig. 1) located beneath the feed table.
In any case the gap between roll and knife shall be smaller than the scrap thickness.
Bottom Roll Position Adjustment
In version C 520 X it is possible to lower the bottom roll by rotating the graduated
knob 39/7 (tav. 7).
Such an operation is necessary to make material feeding easier when the thickness of
the scrap has got a remarkable value if compared to the finished piece, or when
splitting soft materials that cannot suffer excessive compression.
Please keep in mind that when using the automatic incision device, the bottom roll
must be on "0".
Setting the Bottom Feed Roll Pressure
To set the pressure use handwheels F located on the top arms, turnig then clockwise
to increase and counterclockwise to decrease.
1 = Light pressure
2 = Medium light pressure
3 = Medium heavy pressure
4 = Heavy pressure
For thin and soft stock use light pressure, for thick and hard stock use heavy pressure.
In any case work with the minimum pressure admitted by the type of stock involved.
By means of pedal P you can increase the gap between roll and knife to facilitate the
removal of the stock if incorrectly fed.
