(for example by moving leaves) and the microwave
detecting beyond the desired area (for example a
van beyond the fence)
M
.
Installing the sensor
The infrared sensor is sensitive to the “amount of heat”
emitted by a moving body. The maximum range of the
sensor (in metres) is based on a human body and is
therefore a RELATIVE measurement
N
.
Adjusting sensitivity
Turn the adjustment trimmers (RV1 and RV2) fully
clockwise and direct the heads as far downwards as
possible. Slowly decrease the sensitivity and the tilt of
the head until detection only takes place in the area
that you want to protect.
Once you have finished directing the heads, tighten the
joint screws fully.
N.B.
The sensor cover reduces the length of the IR
beam by 30%. The sensor will only be up and running
after the stabilisation phase after switch-on. During this
phase, do not stand or move in the detection area.
Indications for using the sensor outside
The IR detection head MUST be directed so that the
beam is facing downwards
O

or at least parallel to
the ground, NEVER upwards
O
2
. This is to prevent
direct sunlight from blinding the IR detection modules
during the day, jeopardising correct sensor operation.
The 2 heads (IR and microwave) MUST be directed so
as to form 2 overlapping beams.
Small variations in the position of the heads correspond
to considerable variations (at a distance of 18 m) of
the detection areas of the beams (a lateral movement
of 1° of the head corresponds to the movements of
the beams of around 30 cm at 18 m). Never point the
beams towards reflective surfaces
P
.
Partially obscuring the infrared sensor
If the detection area is too large, or if there are branch-
es, curtains, windows etc., it is advisable to mask the
lateral part of the detection beam, limiting it to the sta-
ble parts of the area to be protected.
The sensor package includes a plastic lens cap to be
applied on the IR head to achieve CURTAIN EFFECT de-
tection. Using this lens cap, the opening of the lens
detection beam is reduced to only 20°, maintaining the
same range.
The lens cap must be pushed onto the head, taking
care to ensure that the 2 side flaps are correctly fixed in
the 2 grooves on the head

fits snugly onto the head

Put the cover on the base, starting from the top, and
secure it using the special screw with the BLACK O-ring
