IDROMAT
SAFETY
Read these instructions carefully before installing or using the
device.
The assembler and final user must carefully comply with all applicable
standards and laws, including local regulations. The manufacturer
declines any liability in the event of damage due to improper use or use
under conditions other than those indicated on the serial plate and in
these instructions. The device has been built in conformity with the
current European Community laws.
OPERATION
The electronic controller IDROMAT controls the automatic start and
stop of the water pump when opening or closing any tap or valve of the
installation. When the water pump starts, it keeps running while there is
any tap opened in the system, giving the required flow at constant
pressure to the network.
CAUTION
: This electronic controller can be used either for drinking
water or not drinking water circuits. In installations where both types of
water are present, make sure that drinking water is not mixed with not
drinking water.

HYDRAULIC CONNECTION (fig.1)
Before proceeding with hydraulic connection make sure to
prime the pump correctly.
The IDROMAT should always be installed in horizontal posi-
tion with the overmolded arrow pointing to the top, connecting the inlet
(G 1” male) directly to the pump and the outlet (G 1” male) to the
network.
CAUTION
: Do not install non-return valves on the outlet of IDROMAT.
Do not install any tap between the pump and the device, it is advisable
to install a ball valve on the outlet of the device in order to isolate the
pump-IDROMAT group from the network.
It is advisable to connect the device outlet to the system by using a hose.
If the inlet pressure to IDROMAT exceeds 12 bars, install a pressure
reducer between the pump and IDROMAT.
CAUTION
: Maximum pressure generated by the pump must normally
be 1 bar over the pre-set device restart pressure.
In particular, the actual pressure of the pump and the column of water
must be verified in relation to the restart pressure following the indica-
tions herebelow.

SUBMERSIBLE PUMP INSTALLATION
Install an auxiliary membrane tank of minimum 20 liters volume in
order not to exceed the maximum starts per hour of the motor. The
auxiliary tank is to be preinflated at a pressure of approximately 2m.c.a
lower then the restart pressure of the Idromat.
CAUTION
: The pump does not have to operate at a flow lower than
the minimum flow indicated on the pump plate.
Do not install the Idromat in systems with pumps achieving more than
12 bar pressure at 0 flow.
ELECTRIC CONNECTION (fig.2)
Check the power supply to be 115/230V ± 10% (230V for IDRO-
MAT 5e), remove the cover 1 of the electronic circuit and make
the connection as per diagram on plate fig. 2. The IDROMAT
can also be used for thee-phase or single-phase pumps with rated cur-
rent higher than 12 A by means of an auxiliary contact. In this case
connections are to be made according to scheme in fig. 3,4.
WARNING
Bad connections may spoil the electronic circuit.
STARTING
1. Be sure that the pump is correctly primed, then gently open
one tap.
2. Connect the IDROMAT to the electric supply, the voltage LED
will lit (POWER
).
3. The pump starts working automatically and within a period of
20-25 seconds the pressure gauge will reach approximately
the maximum pressure provided by the pump. During the
operation the corresponding LED (ON
) will be on. If the
pump does not start or does not read the pressure, reset the
system by pushing the button RESET
.
4. Close the tap indicated on point 1;after 8-10 seconds the
pump will stop. The tension LED (POWER
) will be the
only one to remain on. Any problem after this procedure will
be due to a defective pump priming.
Setting the restart pressure values (IDROMAT 5e)
The device is factory calibrated to 1,5 bar, to change the value keep the
Set button
pressed in for 3 seconds once or more times.
The green LED will light up next to the value selected.
The pump stops if the pressure generated by the same fails to reach the
values indicated above.
The pump starts but without restarting if the height of the water column
exceeds the values indicated above.
POSSIBLE PROBLEMS
The pump does not stop
a) Water leakage more than 1 l/min at some points of the pipe, check
the installation, taps, WC, etc.
b) Manual start switch (RESET
) is blocked: act on it several times,
in case the problem persists contact your dealer.
c) Breakdown on the electronic card: proceed with its replacement.
d) Incorrect electric connection: verify the connections according to
fig.2,3,4.
The pump does not start
a) Not enough water supply, the security system has been activated
and the LED (FAILURE
) is on: check the water supply and reset
the pump through the reset switch (RESET
).
b) Pump is blocked: LED (FAILURE
) is
on, the security system is activated. When you act on the manual
start switch (RESET
) the LED (ON
) is activated but the
pump does not work: contact your dealer.
c) Failure in the electronic circuit: switch off the power supply, wait for
few seconds and turn it on again. If the pump does not start imme-
diately then replace the circuit.
d) No electrical supply: check the proper electric feeding. The tension
LED (POWER
) should be on.
e) Not enough pump pressure: the security system has been activated and
the corresponding LED (FAILURE
) is on. Check that the pump pres-
sure is 0,5 bar higher than the starting pressure of the IDROMAT.
f) Air in the pump suction: the pressure gauge will indicate a pressure
lower than the nominal one or constant oscillations. The security
system will act by stopping the pump, the LED (FAILURE) will be on.
Check the sealing of the connections and O-ring of the suction pipe.
The pump starts and stops repeatedly
Small leakage in some point of the installation: verify possible tap or
WC tank leaks and repair them.
