Connect the second UM-3G (or UM-3EX) to the upper of the first UM-3G unit’s two
UM-3G/UM-3EX connectors.

Connect the third UM-3G (or UM-3EX) to the lower of the first UM-3G unit’s two UM-
3G/UM-3EX connectors.
6.
Connect the first UM-3G unit to the computer.
7.
The Found New Hardware Wizard dialog box will appear.
If you are asked whether you want to connect to Windows Update, choose “No, ...” and click
[Next] .

Choose Install the software automatically (Recommended) , and click [Next].
If the Hardware Installation dialog box appears, click [Continue Anyway] to proceed with
the installation.
* If you’re unable to continue, click [OK] to exit the installation. Change the settings as described
in “Driver Signing Options Settings (Windows XP)” (p. 29), and then perform the installation
once again.
9. The screen will indicate “Completed the Found New Hardware Wizard” . Click
[Finish] .
If the Found New Hardware Wizard dialog box appears again, repeat steps 7 through 9.
This completes driver installation.
In your application, select the MIDI input/output device that you want to use.
* For the UM-3EX, instead of “UM-3G” appearing in the MIDI input/output device name, “UM-
3EX” will be shown.
