CABLING

2.
Attach the other end of Interconnect cable securely to the STACK port
on the STH. (The STH port labeled RESERVE is non-functional and
cannot support the connection.)
The STH’s STACK LED lights:
•
Green if you have correctly connected the MicroMMAC-T and
STH hub and both hubs are set to operate at the same ring speed.
This indicates that the MicroMMAC-T and STH hub are on the
same ring.
By default, all STH hubs in the stack are automatically included
on a common ring with the MicroMMAC-T when they are
initially connected.
•
Red if a connection has not been established either because there
is a problem with the physical connection or the MicroMMAC-T
and the STH hub are set to operate at different ring speeds.
Any STH hub with a different ring speed is automatically
bypassed from the MicroMMAC-T’s host ring.
If the STACK LED on the STH hub lights red (but you want green) try the
following procedures to resolve the problem:
•
Ensure that both hubs are powered on.
•
Re-connect the STH to the MicroMMAC-T.
•
Ensure that the ring speed setting is the same for both hubs.
•
Check Local Management to make sure the MicroMMAC-T is in the
default interconnect mode.
See the MicroMMAC-T Local Management Guide for information about
managing STH hubs connected to the MicroMMAC-T and the
STH-22/24/42/44 Stackable Token Ring Hub User’s Guide, included
with STH hubs, for information about setting up, operating, and
troubleshooting STH hubs.
