CAUTION

If the vacuum pump is operated with a motor that turns in the
wrong direction, it can be destroyed, even if this is the case for only
a short moment.

Make sure that the vacuum pump is connected correctly before
switching it on.

l

Determine the direction of rotation by using a pressure measure
tool or by placing a rubber plate on the inlet

l

Press the on/off switch briefly.

l

Make sure that the vacuum pump draws in.

If the direction of rotation has to be changed:

u

Switch around any two of the motor wires in the terminal box

Cooling water flowmeter FIS-/01 connection

Connect the cooling water flowmeter according to the connection
plan below:

Pressure resistance: 16 bar

Setting: 2 l/min

Setting the cooling water flow

The flow of the cooling water is monitored by the flowmeter FIS-/01.
The flowmeter must be connected in such a way that switching leads
to an alarm and stopping of the vacuum pump when the flow drops
below 2 l/min.
The cooling water flow is factory set on 2,5 l/min and can be adjusted
at the regulating valve CWR. This water circuit is used to cool the
motor of the pump and the oil.

Nitrogen flowmeter FIS-/02 connection
(option)

l

Connect the nitrogen flowmeter according to the connection plan
below:

Setting the nitrogen supply (purge gas)
(option)

The flow of the nitrogen is checked by the flowmeter FIS-/02. The
flowmeter must be connected in such a way that switching leads to an
alarm and stopping of the vacuum pump when the flow drops below
16 l/min.
The nitrogen flow is factory set on 18 Nl/ min and can be adjusted at
the regulating valve DGR according to pump use.

The purge gas supply is typically equipped with pressure regulators and
solenoid valves. Disfunctions of these components must not cause
dangerous overpressure conditions inside the vacuum pump or in
connected pipework. If required pressure monitoring or relief valves
should be foreseen.
