Operator Panel Power Cable
The following procedures describe the removal and replacement of the operator panel power cable. Before
performing the following procedures, read the “Safety Notices” on page vii.
Removing the Operator Panel Power Cable
To remove the operator panel power cable, do the following:
1. Stop the system as described in “Stopping the System” on page 9.
2. Disconnect the power source from the system.
Note: This system may be equipped with a second power supply. Before continuing with this
procedure, ensure that the power source to the system has been completely disconnected.
3. Place the system into the service position as described in “Placing the 296/C3 into the Service
Position” on page 6 or “Placing the 296/E3 into the Service and Operating Position” on page 7.
4. Remove the front bezel as described in “Removing the 296/C3 Front Bezel” on page 15 or “Removing
the 296/E3 Front Bezel” on page 16.
5. Remove the media bay chassis as described in “Removing the Media Bay Chassis” on page 59.
6. Locate the operator panel, as shown in the following illustrations.
7. Remove the operator panel by pressing the locking tabs located on either side of the panel, grasping
the edges of the panel, and pulling it out of its bay.
8. Disconnect the operator panel power cable from the rear of the operator panel.
