2.4

Important safety information

If required by applicable regulations, the heating system
has to comply with ANSI/ASME CSD-1 (Standard for
Controls and Safety Devices for Automatically Fired
Boilers).

Carbon monoxide detectors must be installed if required
by applicable regulations.

WARNING!

DANGER TO LIFE

from poisonous gases.

Insufficient combustion air can cause dan-
gerous flue gas leaks.

z

The ventilation and exhaust openings
must never be plugged. The cross-sec-
tion of the ventilation and exhaust
openings must comply with the design
specifications at all times.

z

If the ventilation and exhaust openings
do not comply with the specifications,
the heating system must never be oper-
ated.

z

Notify operator and building owner of
the defect in writing.

WARNING!

FIRE DANGER

from flammable material or liquids.

z

Make sure that there is no combustible
material or liquids in the boiler room be-
fore starting work.

WARNING!

FIRE DANGER

from unintended use.

z

The burner may only be operated while
installed in a boiler.

CAUTION!

BURNER DAMAGE

from contaminated combustion air.

z

Prevent excessive dust levels.

CAUTION!

SYSTEM DAMAGE

from blocked oil filters.

Filters that clog up immediately after filling
a tank may indicate that residue from the
bottom was stirred up.

z

In such cases it is recommended to
shut down the heating system while fill-
ing the tank and wait several hours be-
fore restarting the system. Instruct the
operator and building owners accord-
ingly.

CAUTION!

SYSTEM DAMAGE

From improper installation

z

Always follow state of the art construc-
tion techniques for installation and
maintenance, and observe all applica-
ble codes and regulations.

WARNING!

DANGER TO LIFE

from electrical shock.

z

Do not work on electrical components
unless you have the required qualifica-
tion.

z

Before you start working, disconnect
the heating system from electrical pow-
er by shutting off the emergency shutoff
switch, or the heating system circuit
breaker.

z

It is not sufficient to simply shut off the
controls.

z

Observe all applicable codes and regu-
lations.

CAUTION!

DEVICE DAMAGE

from incorrect repair.

z

Do not attempt to repair parts that have
built in safety features. Always replace
the part.

NOTICE

z

Only use original Buderus spare parts.

Buderus does not accept responsibility for
damage caused by third party spare parts.
