2.7 Safety elements
Chassis:
•
Electrostatic conducting chassis wheels are lockable for
stationary positioning.
Drive unit:
•
Lock pin on the drive unit to safely attach the evaporating
flask.
•
Safety pressure valve opens if the drive head overloads or
becomes blocked.
Heating bath:
•
Automatic lowering of bath in case of a power failure to
protect the flask contents from overheating.
•
Level regulation with bath overflow.
Glassware:
•
Use of high-grade, inert 3.3 borosilicate glass.
•
Grease-free ground glass joints with inserted PTFE seal
for inert, non-stick vacuum connections
•
Flexible ball-and-socket couplings with plastic insert for
stress-free fastening of the ground glass joints.
•
Threaded glass connections on all remaining glass joints
to prevent glass breakage.
Optional:
•
GLAS protective coating for glass components
improves their mechanical resistance to breakage and
increases protection against glass splinters.
