Footswitch and electrogoniometer kits

Figure 7.6
The electrogoniometers need to be connected to the EGN wireless probes through the dedicated
connecting cables.
The electrogonimeter needs to be connected to the EGN wireless probe through the dedicated
connecting cables. The connecting cables are numbered as 1 and 2.
Cable number 1 must be connected to the green cable, while cable number 2 must be
connected to the grey cable.
Figure 7.7
It must be kept in mind that BTS software products assign the label
“Flexion
-Extension
” to the
signal
available through cable 1. The label of the corresponding secondary movement
(i.e. “Inversion
-
Eversion”, “Abduction
-
Adduction”, “Valgus
-
Varus”,…) is
assigned to cable 2. This convention
influences how the electrogoniometer should be positioned on the patient’s body.
For example, the electrogoniometer should be positioned on the knee as shown in the following
picture (
). In this way the flexion-extension angle is correctly going to be available through
cable 1 (connected to the green cable), while the varus-valgus angle will be available through cable
2 (connected to the grey cable).
