Introduction

The voice-box-system utilizes a touch-tone telephone or a small touch-tone trans-
mitter for communication and control.

Hardware

1.2

The BMS hardware consists of an industrial PC (IPC) and a modem for the con-
nection to the telephone network.

Industrial-PC

1.2.1

The IPC is delivered in a 19” industrial case with an integrated TFT LC-display.
This unit is mounted in a 19” rack with an integrated drawer for the keyboard and
trackball. The access door to the operating elements, the floppy-drive and CD-
ROM drive is lockable.

The IPC should consist of at least the following configuration:

•

Intel Pentium processor, 133MHz

•

32MB memory

•

1 GB harddisk (IDE)

•

CD-ROM drive (for software installation)

•

Floppy drive 3.5” / 1,44MByte

•

Display: LCD-TFT-SVGA, resolution 800x600 pixels (minimum), screen size:
10.4”

•

Keyboard with integrated trackball

•

2 serial I/O ports (modem and SBS-bus), 1 parallel port (printer), 1 PS/2 port
for trackball / mouse.

•

Operating system: Microsoft Windows NT 4.0
