Connecting to an iSCSI Device using the
Microsoft iSCSI Initiator
There are many iSCSI Initiators available. However, for the purpose of this user guide we shall
concentrate only on the Microsoft iSCSI Initiator. In this example we have used the Microsoft iSCSI
Initiator that is available with Microsoft Vista. However, the following procedure is very similar for all
versions of Microsoft iSCSI Initiator.
General Set up
Open the iSCSI initiator and then click on the
General
tab. You should see the following page:
From this page, you are able to configure the initiator name, specify the initiator secret and set up
the IPsec connections. For the purpose of this document we shall leave the initiator name as the
default.
If you intend to use Mutual CHAP authentication you must enter the Initiator secret from this page.
Click on the
Secret
button and the following window should be displayed:
