Cleaning the soleplate and exterior

Step 1.

Ensure that the iron is disconnected from the
power outlet.

Step 2.

To remove residue which may have built up from
certain fabric finishes, clean the soleplate with a
rough cloth which has been soaked in a vinegar
water solution. Dry thoroughly with a soft cloth.

To clean the steam holes, simply use a damp cloth to
wipe away any build up of lint or starch from inside
the steam holes.

Step 3.

Wipe the outer housing with a soft, damp clean cloth
and polish with a dry cloth.

Never use abrasives or scouring pads to clean
the soleplate. Avoid hard contact with metal
objects. Do not scratch or damage the surface of
the soleplate.

Do not use abrasives or harsh cleaners as they
may damage the surface of the iron.

Never immerse the iron or its cord and plug in
water or any other liquid.

Note

Care and cleaning

Self cleaning function

Your iron will give the best result and last longer if
you apply ‘self-cleaning’ regularly (once or twice
a month) to remove any scale or impurities.

Step 1.

Set the steam selector to the DRY position.

Step 2.

Fill the water tank up to the MAX FILL water level
with the water filling beaker supplied.

Step 3.

Place the iron on its heel.

Step 4.

Set the temperature dial to ‘Linen’.

Step 5.

Plug in at the power outlet, and switch on at
the power socket.

Step 6.

Allow the iron to heat up until the heating indicator
light turns off.

Step 7.

Turn the power off and remove the plug from the
power outlet.

Step 8.

Hold the iron horizontally over the sink.

Step 9.

Push and hold the steam selector to the
CLEAN position.

Once you have done this, it is normal for a little
water to remain in the water tank because the
iron’s anti-drip system may prevent the tank
being completely emptied. This will not affect
its ironing performance.

Repeat the cleaning process if the iron still
contains a lot of impurities.

Note

Important: Only push and hold the steam selector to
the CLEAN position only when you want to activate
the self-cleaning system.

Do not push and hold the steam selector to the
CLEAN position whilst ironing.

BOILING WATER AND STEAM WILL EMIT FROM THE HOLES IN THE SOLEPLATE. IMPURITIES AND
SCALE (IF ANY) WILL BE FLUSHED OUT.
MOVE THE IRON FORWARDS AND BACKWARDS WHILE THIS HAPPENS.
