Breville recommends safety first

We at Breville are very safety conscious. We design and manufacture consumer products with the safety of you,
our valued customer foremost in mind. In addition we ask that you exercise a degree of care when using any
electrical appliance and adhere to the following precautions:

Read all instructions before operating and save for 
future reference

To protect against electric shock, do not immerse
the iron or its cord and plug in water or any 
other liquid.

Always switch the appliance to the minimum
position and then switch off and unplug from the
power outlet when not in use, when filling or
emptying the iron with water and before cleaning.

The iron should always be turned to minimum
before plugging or unplugging from the power
outlet. Never pull on the power cord to disconnect
it from the power outlet. Always switch off at the
power outlet before unplugging, and use the plug
grip to disconnect.

Do not leave the appliance unattended while it 
is connected to the power outlet or on an 
ironing board.

Do not allow the cord to touch hot surfaces. 
Allow the iron to cool completely before storing in
an upright position on its heel.

Do not place or store the appliance where it can
fall or be pulled into water or any other liquid.
Should the unit however, accidentally fall into
water, do not reach in to retrieve it until power to
the unit is switched off at the power outlet and the
cord has been unplugged from the power outlet.

Do not touch hot surfaces. High temperatures are
generated during use which could cause burns.
Always use the handle and warn others (especially
children) of the possible dangers of burns from
steam, hot water or the hot soleplate, especially
when ironing vertically.

Never iron or dampen clothes whilst wearing them.

Always store the iron in an upright position on 
its heel.

The appliance is not intended for use by young
children or infirm persons without supervision. 

Close supervision is necessary for this appliance
being used near children. Young children should be
supervised to ensure that they do not play with 
the appliance.

This appliance use is for household use only. Do not
use this appliance for anything other than its
intended use.

Do not use outdoors or in bathrooms.

The installation of a residual current device 
(safety switch) is recommended to provide
additional safety protection when using electrical
appliances. It is advisable that a safety switch with
a rated residual operating current not exceeding
30mA be installed in the electrical circuit supplying
the appliance. See your electrician for 
professional advice.

Regularly inspect the supply cord, plug and actual
appliance for any damage. If the product
malfunctions or is found damaged in any way,
immediately cease use of the appliance and return
the entire unit to your nearest Breville Service
Centre for examination, replacement or repair.

Do not allow the cord to hang down over edges
where it can be reached and pulled by children.

Store the unit out of reach of children.

Fully unwind the cord before use. 

To protect against electric shock, do not immerse
cord, plug or motor body in water or any 
other liquid.

Do not let the cord hand over the edge of a table
or counter, touch hot surfaces or become knotted.

This appliance is not intended for use by young
children or infirm persons unless they have been
adequately supervised by a responsible person to
ensure they can use the appliance safely.

Young children should be supervised to ensure that
they do not play with the appliance. 

It is recommended to regularly inspect the
appliance. Do not use the appliance if the power
supply cord, plug or appliance becomes damaged in
any way. Return the entire appliance to the nearest
authorised Breville Service Centre for examination
and/or repair.

Any maintenance other than cleaning should be
performed at an authorised Breville Service Centre.

This appliance is for household use only. Do not use
this appliance for anything other than its intended
use. Do not use in moving vehicles or boats. Do not
use outdoors.
