Wiring the Enabling Button
The following special requirements apply for the connection between the hand-
held terminal (IndraControl VEH 30.1/30.2 or VCH 08.1) and the safety-related
evaluation for the enabling button: It is required that short-circuits and/or cross-
circuits on the safety-related signal paths are safely detected by evaluation
devices.
The simultaneity monitoring is to be carried out by the monitoring device. Oth‐
erwise, an unidentified error accumulation can occur and can diminish safety.
The EN 60204-1:1997 also specifies that the enabling device is to be connected
to a stop of the category 0 or 1, i.e. the energy must be switched off.
For further information on the wiring of the enabling button and
connection examples how category 3 can be reached by using the
hand-held terminals VCH 08.1 or VEH 30.1/30.2 and its safety-re‐
lated parts, please refer to the documentation of the hand-held
terminals IndraControl VEH 30.1 (DOK-SUPPL*-VEH*30.1***-
PR02-EN-P), IndraControl VEH 30.2 (DOK-SUPPL*-VEH*30.2***-
PR01-EN-P) or IndraControl VCH 08.1 (DOK-SUPPL*-
VCH*08.1***-PR01-EN-P).
