Connection information for PROFIBUS
The data lines RxD/TxD-P and RxD/TxD-N are also known as A and B lines. For
PROFIBUS, there are no regulations specifying which wire color of the data line
should be connected to which terminal. The wire color must be standardized
through the entire system, however.
If a transfer cable with red and green wires is used, we recommend using the
following assignment:
• RxD/TxD-N (A line): green
• RxD/TxD-P (B line): red
For connecting the ID 200/C-PDP communication module to PROFIBUS DP, use the
B-coded M12 socket and a Y line ID 200/K-PDP Y.
To connect multiple ID 200/C-PDP communication modules to the PROFIBUS DP,
connect other Y lines, which are used to connect the communication modules to
the PROFIBUS DP. The final user in the bus must be connected to the line which
comes from the penultimate device using a line ID 200/K-PDP R with integrated bus
terminator. For a graphic showing the connection method, see section 5.4.8 “Bus
terminator” .
The shield is connected with the ID 200/C-PDP via the knurled nut of the plug-in
connection.
