Voltage supply for the controller
The voltage supply for the controller is implemented via the connectors XG32 (logic voltage),
as well as XG31 and XG33 (peripheral voltage).
Configure the voltage supply in such a way that all devices starting at the same time are
sufficiently supplied when the voltage is restored. Insufficient voltage supply to the ctrlX
SAFETY controller leads to a voltage monitoring error, which can only be reset via a POR. There is a
very high probability that the same error will occur again during the next switch-on process.
Connect the voltage supply with cables that have a conductor cross-section of AWG 16 (1.5
mm
2
).
Always connect the voltage supply to XG31 and XG33 (peripheral voltage is monitored), even if
the outputs of the control device are not connected.
Check the power supply on the XG31, XG32 and XG33 for a tight fit. A loose connection can
trigger the peripheral voltage monitoring system or cause subsequent errors.
Only use copper cables for the wiring of connection terminals.
Only use cables that are approved for at least 60 °C.
Only the designated connector set is approved for connecting the 24 V supply voltage to the
ctrlX SAFETY controller (see section 11.3 “Connector set for SAFEX-C.1*”).
To avoid EMC interference due to loop formation, the 24 V voltage potential and ground (GND)
are connected in a star shape to the connections for logic (U
L
) and peripheral voltage (U
P
). This
eliminates the need for DUO wire ferrules for further looping of the potentials.
To connect the 24V supply voltage, please pay attention to the connector assignment according
to sections 9.2.1 and 10.2.1.
