Behavior of the camera in motion when in Autofocus mode Auto Focus
The camera displays the following behavior when in motion when set to the Autofocus mode
Auto Focus (continuous/always active):
–
The camera runs autofocus continuously to keep the objects in focus when in manual
motion.
– Autofocus does not activate if the camera is moving between pre positions.
– Bosch recommends that users turn off Autofocus when the camera is moving at very high
speed (>60⁰/second).
– Autofocus compensates for focus distortion from the camera bubble.
– Autofocus does not get “distracted” by bright light sources. For example, under low light
scenes, the camera does not try to focus on the bright light sources (such as a street
light) instead of on low illumination regions (such as the street).
– Autofocus tries to keep the objects at the center of the scene under the best focus. This
is especially important when operators try to track a moving person or vehicle.
– The minimum distance for objects from the camera is 3 m. Users can increase the
minimum focus distance to the following values to improve the focus speed (using the
field Near focus limit in the menu Lens Settings):

Near: 3 m
– Medium: 5 m
– Far: 10 m
Behavior of the camera in motion when in Autofocus mode One Push
The camera displays the following behavior when in motion when set to the Autofocus mode
One Push (often called “Spot Focus”):
–
By default, the camera is forced into Auto Focus mode when panning, tilting, or zooming
(PTZ). That is, the camera overrides the Autofocus mode One Push and switches to
Autofocus mode Auto Focus (continuous/always active).
– When the camera stops, the camera tries to find the best focus position within 5 seconds
of stopping and then keeps the focus setting until triggered by manual PTZ commands.
– Switching from day mode to night mode (in the menu ALC) triggers the Autofocus mode
One Push.
– When on preset tours, the camera triggers the auto focus commands as soon the camera
stops moving. Users can save the focus position when saving presets.
