Command Description

ATW

Select Extended Result Codes. Determines which result
codes will be used to describe the type of connection
that results from handshaking and negotiation.

ATW0

CONNECT result code reports your modem’s speed.
(default).

ATW1

CONNECT result code reports your modem’s speed and
enables the CARRIER, COMPRESSION, and PROTOCOL
extended result code.

ATW2

CONNECT result code reports the speed of the modem
you’re connected to.

ATX

Select Result Codes/Call Progress Options. Enables the
tone detection options used in the dialing process.

ATX0

Displays CONNECT or “1” for all speeds.

ATX1

Displays connect message according to ATW and AT\V;
blind dial; ignores busy tone.

ATX2

Displays connect message according to ATW and AT\V;
waits for dial tone; ignores busy tone.

ATX3

Displays connect message according to ATW and AT\V;
blind dial; checks busy tone after dialing.

ATX4

Displays connect message according to ATW and AT\V;
waits for dial tone; checks busy tone after dialing.

ATZ

Recall stored profile. Instructs the modem to go on-
hook (hang-up) and restore the selected profile.

ATZ0

Restores stored profile 0.

ATZ1

Restores stored profile 1.

Escape Characters
+++

The escape characters are known as +++. They will switch
from on-line mode to command mode while preserving the
connection with the on line modem.
