4 PRECAUTIONS
4.1 PRECAUTIONS FOR THIS DEVICE*
4.1.1 PRECAUTIONS FOR USE OF THE COUCH
For effective use of the equipment, proceed only if the weight is properly distributed on the
device.
In the case of a difficult or unsupervised patient, it is advisable to leave the splint area in the
lowest position in order to reduce the risk of a potential fall.
Similarly, it is advisable to use the “adjustable height” function whenever handling the patient,
in order to work at an ergonomic height.
The patient should be placed in a sitting or standing position on the base side, by lowering the
bars. The patient should not be seated on the torso-lift. Risk of falling.
Under no circumstances can either of the bars be considered an area inaccessible to patients.
The appropriate measures must be taken depending on the patient.
During conveyance, it is necessary to make sure that the power cord is disconnected and
wrapped around the reel provided for this purpose before moving the couch.
When the couch does not need to be moved, it should be immobilized using the brakes, and then
making sure that the wheels are locked by attempting to move it. Failure to observe this handling
method can lead to a fall by someone attempting to lean against the couch.
All of the handling methods relating to the precautions for use mentioned above are
described in
section II– Operating instructions .
It is inadvisable to handle without appropriate training.
4.1.2 PRECAUTION FOR SERVICING AND MAINTENANCE OF THE EQUIPMENT
No modifications must be made to the device without the prior consent of the manufacturer: the
modification may cause it to function in an unpredictable manner and thereby cause injury to the
patient and the nursing staff.
The device requires regular inspection.
In order to maintain the device in good condition and ensure that it can be safely operated over
the long term, it is necessary to service it in the prescribed manner.
Should abnormalities or damage which could compromise the operation and safety of the device
be noted, the equipment must be immediately removed.
The device must be used exclusively in accordance with the instructions in this instruction manual.
