CLEANING
AND
DISINFECTION
3.1
INTRODUCTION
Regular proper cleaning ensures the service life of the device (cf. established cleaning schedule
established when the device is put into service, specifying the resource reference staff).
Failure to carry out cleaning operations may lead to the risk of infection due to the presence
of secretions and/or residue on the couch.
The following cleaning recommendations are not a substitute for your establishment’s in-house
protocol.
3.2
FREQUENCY
Cleaning operations should be performed:

per patient, i.e. between patients
-
after transporting an infected patient
-
thoroughly on a weekly basis.

RECOMMENDED
MATERIAL
AND
PRODUCTS

Only use authorized, standardized cleaning products or disinfectants.

Take note of products that are strictly prohibited by the manufacturer (Cf. list below).
List of strictly prohibited products:
Solvents :
Petrol / higher aliphatic and aromatic alcohols /ketones-esthers /
trichlorethylene-perchlorethylene
Base :
Soda 10% / Ammonia 10%
Acids :
Nitric 10% / Hydrochloric 30% / Citric 10%
Misc.:
Distilled water / Bleach / Abrasive powders / Any abrasive product

Do not use abrasive utensils or mildly diluted bleach.

Do not mix products.

Follow the prescribe proportions and dilutions.

Use clean disposable cloths.
-
When cleaning and disinfecting, wear protective clothing and gloves.
