Installation and Getting Started Guide

•

You can also insert international and accented characters in your messages.
When composing a message or entering text, press and hold a letter while
rolling the trackwheel to scroll through international characters, marks, and
equation symbols. When the desired character appears, release the letter key.

Enterprise email account FAQs

Why am I not receiving all of my email messages?

If you are not receiving some messages on your handheld, check whether any of
the following situations apply.

•

Is your handheld in the cradle and connected to your computer?

By default,

if your handheld is in the cradle, you will not receive any email messages
while the desktop software is running. Remove your handheld from the
cradle to determine whether email messages are being forwarded
properly.

•

Do you have message forwarding enabled?

Check the

General

tab settings

and ensure that the

Forward messages to my handheld

check box is

selected.

•

Are you within an area of sufficient wireless coverage?

You can send email

messages if

GPRS

appears below the wireless coverage indicator in the

top right corner of the screen. One or more bars must also appear beside
the wireless coverage indicator to send email messages.

•

Have you set folder redirection?

Check the

Advanced

tab settings and

ensure that you have selected the proper folders from which email
messages should be redirected.

•

Have you set filter rules?

Check the filters in the Redirector Settings tool of

the desktop software to ensure that the messages you want to receive are
being forwarded. Refer to the

Redirector Settings Online Help

for

information.

•

Have you set the filter order correctly?

The order in which the filters appear

in your filter list reflects the order in which they are applied to new

Microsoft

Exchange

Is your computer turned on? If you are using the BlackBerry Desktop
Redirector to forward your email, your computer must be on whenever you
want to receive messages on your handheld. If your company is using the
BlackBerry Enterprise Server to forward your email, you do not need to leave
your computer turned on.
