Turn off email, PIN, browser, and MMS services

Depending on your wireless service provider plan, you might be able to turn off the email, PIN, browser
and MMS services of your BlackBerry® device so that only phone calls and SMS messages are available.
Contact your wireless service provider for more information.

1. In the device options, click Network.

2. Perform one of the following actions:

• To turn off email, PIN, browser and MMS services, set the Data Services field to Off.

• To turn off email, PIN, browser and MMS services only when you roam to another network,

set the Data Services field to Off When Roaming.

3. Press the Menu key.

4. Click Save.

About roaming

In most cases, your BlackBerry® device automatically roams to an appropriate network when you travel

outside of your wireless service provider's coverage area. Your wireless service provider must set up

your SIM card for roaming services before you can select a different network and some features might

be priced differently than on your wireless service provider's network.
An indicator appears on your device to let you know that you are roaming outside of your normal network

area. You might also have to provide login information before you can access the network. Contact your

wireless service provider for more information about roaming.

Roam to another network manually

Verify that your wireless service provider has set up your SIM card for this service.
By default, your BlackBerry® device is designed to roam to an appropriate network automatically when
you travel.

1. In the device options, click Network.

2. Set the Network Selection Mode field to Manual.

3. Click Scan for Available Networks.

4. Click a network.

5. Click Select Network.

6. Press the Menu key.

7. Click Save.

Note:  Your device connects to the selected network and remains connected to it until you select your
home network again, or until you select another network.
To reconnect to your home network, set the Selection Mode field to Automatic.
