Set the default browser configuration
1. In the device options, click Advanced Options.
2. Click Browser.
3. Set the Default browser configuration field.
4. Press the Menu key.
5. Click Save.
Set the character encoding for web pages
By default, your BlackBerry® device is designed to use the optimal character encoding for a web page.
1. On a web page, press the Menu key.
2. Click Set Encoding.
3. Clear the Auto mode check box.
4. Set the Default charset field.
5. Click OK.
The browser uses this character encoding for all web pages.
Receive a prompt before running a script
1. In the browser, press the Menu key.
2. Click Options.
3. Click General Properties.
4. Select the Prompt Before Running WML Scripts check box.
5. Press the Menu key.
6. Click Save Options.
Receive a prompt before closing the browser
By default, your BlackBerry® device closes the browser without prompting you when you hold the
Escape key.
1. In the browser, press the Menu key.
2. Click Options.
3. Click General Properties.
4. Select the Prompt Before Closing Browser On Escape check box.
5. Press the Menu key.
6. Click Save Options.
