OSD Command Line operations 

The OSD Command Line enables you to enter commands to reset the mouse and 
keyboard, force a user at another user station to make and/or break a connection and 
configure the Direct Digital Control (DDC) table used by the Octet SAM. The following 
table provides a list of hotkey sequences used to activate the Command Line. The default 
Command Line hotkey sequence is the 

NumLock

 key pressed and held, followed by the 

Minus

 (

-

) key. You can set the following hotkey sequences from the list available on the 

Console tab.

To reset the keyboard and mouse:

1.

Press the default Command Line hotkey sequence to display the Command Line.

To force a user to make or break a connection:

NOTE:

 

The following rules apply for optimum operation of the force connection feature:

 - Both the user entering the command and the user at the target user station 

must have rights to the server. 

- All force connections are done in Shared mode.

- All user stations and Octet SAMs must have unique names. 

- If the source and target user stations are connected to different Octet switches, the Octet switching 

system must  be synchronized using the Octoware.

Press the default Command Line hotkey sequence to display the Command Line.

Type 

fc ‘[TargetUserStationName]’ ‘[servername]’ 

and press

 Enter 

to force 

the target user station to connect to the specified server.
