Chapter 4: Hardware Installation
4.5 Connecting the VWX-2110 Expansion Chassis to the VWP-2110 Radian Video Wall
Processor Chassis
You can connect a VWX-2110 expansion chassis to the VWP-2110 to increase the number of PCIe slots available.
The following diagram illustrates how this can be achieved.
Figure 4-6. Expansion chassis setup.
The Radian Video Wall Processor technology allows multiple backplanes to be arranged in a star configuration,
providing the ability to create very large systems consisting of several chassis, each with 11 available slots for
video capture inputs and/or graphics outputs, connected via the optional expansion kit.
Connect the chassis to the expansion chassis via the appropriate cable.
The cards are factory installed into a system as a pair. When connecting expansion chassis ensure that the pair
labelled Link1 are connected using an approved cable, the pair labelled Link2 are connected together, and so
on. If this is not possible, connect the expansion chassis to the host machine and re-install the driver to reset the
pairings.
Figure 4-7. Pre-installed cards and appropriate cable to link them together.
When connecting a VWX-2110 expansion chassis to a VWP-2110 machine, the appropriate card is pre-installed in
the VWX-2090 x8 slot. The appropriate card in the VWX-2090 is pre-installed in the PICMG1.3 SBC slot.
