MINIATURE 2-CHANNEL STATISTICAL MULTIPLEXOR
2.3 Configuration Instructions
Pay attention to use of capital letters whenever required.
1 . If necessary, power up the Multiplexor and connect your terminal to
one of the sub-channels. Check terminal communication parameters.
2. Allow an idle period of at least one second, type @ @ @, wait at least one
second, and type S.
3. The Multiplexor enters the command mode. Enter the password.
NOTE
The default password is RD. If you do not know the password, initialize
the Multiplexor via the INIT/NOR jumper.
4. The STM displays the Main Menu. Use Figure 4-6 to plan your configuration
actions. Record the configuration on the form given at the end of the
appendix. Keep the filled-up form for reference.
IMPORTANT
Each configuration change takes effect immediately. Each time you
change one of the communication parameters of the sub-channel you
use now, you must immediately change the corresponding
communication parameter of your terminal to the same value. If you
don’t, you lose communication with the Multiplexor. If you make an error
that you cannot correct, initialize again the Multiplexor with the
INlT/NOR jumper and start again.
5. When the link to the remote Multiplexor operates, use Remote System
Configuration to transfer local configuration to remote Multiplexor,
and/or to configure the remote Multiplexor as required.
6. If you initialized the Multiplexor, modify the password as required.
Record the password.
7. Exit the command mode by typing 6 on the Main Menu.
