If the following safety regulations and adaptations are
complied with, the condensing units (except
LH265E/ ..) can be operated with the specified refriger-
ants of the A2L safety group.
• Observe the max. refrigerant charge according to
place of installation and installation area! See
EN378-1 and local regulations.
• No operation in vacuum range! Install safety devices
for protection against insufficient and also excessive
pressure and make sure that they are designed in
accordance with the requirements of the safety regu-
lations (e.g. EN378-2).
• Prevent air penetration into the system – also during
and after maintenance work!
5.2.3
General operation requirements
Operation of the system and personal protection are
usually subject to national regulations on product
safety, operational reliability and accident prevention.
This requires separate agreements to be made
between the system manufacturer and the end user.
Implementation of the required risk assessment for in-
stallation and operation of the system is the responsibil-
ity of the end user. To this end, cooperation with a noti-
fied body is recommended.
To open the pipes, use only pipe cutters; do not use an
open flame.

Mounting
6.1
Transporting the condensing unit
Either transport the condensing unit screwed onto the
pallet or lift it on the fixing rails.
6.2
Transport locks for condensing units
To avoid transport damage to condensing units in their
state of delivery, the vibration dampers of the com-
pressors are blocked by transport locks. It is imperative
to remove these locks after assembly and prior to start-
ing operations. See operating instructions of the com-
pressor KB-104.
6.3
Pipelines
The pipelines must be as short as possible in order to
minimise pressure drops and to keep the refrigerant
quantity available in the pipeline system as low as pos-
sible.
6.4
Installing the condensing unit
The place of installation must have sufficient load-car-
rying capacity and must be level and vibration-resistant.
Minimum distances to fixed delimiting surfaces must be
complied with. Avoid short-circuit of the air flow or ob-
struction in the air flow of the condenser fans!
During system design, take the minimum and maximum
loads into account. Design pipework and risers accord-
ing to the generally known rules for compound sys-
tems. Contact BITZER if the system is operated under
extreme conditions (e.g. aggressive atmosphere, low
outdoor temperatures, etc.).
Ensure good accessibility for maintenance and service
work!
!
!
NOTICE
When installing the condensing unit in areas
where extreme wind loads may occur, screw it
always firmly to the ground!
If installed on a roof, provide sufficient lightning
protection!
Winter controller
Operation at low ambient temperatures requires the
use of a winter controller (see chapter Electrical con-
nection of EC fans for LH32E/.. to LH135E/.., page
35).
