Operating Instructions
Normal Operation
After setting up the Bird Cal Cart:
Note:
The
AC
power
supply
required
is
115/230
V
@
50/60
Hz,
1ö.
The
unit
is
equipped
with
an
IEC
320
“cold”
(65°C)
AC
inlet.
1.
Connect
the
unit
to
the
AC
line.
2.
Power
on
the
laptop.
Note:
Receiver
bootup
process
may
take
as
long
as
90
seconds.
Indicators
should
illuminate
green
after
a
successful
bootup.
3.
Verify
the
status
indicators
illuminate
(green)
on
the
receiver.
If
the
indicators
are
not
all
green
4.
Launch
the
BDS
GUI
Application.
Operating Loads with Attached Blowers
Note:
For
the
8931
and
other
loads
with
attached
blowers
ONLY.
1.
Check
that
the
indicator
light
is
on.
2.
Check
that
the
switch
is
set
to
MANUAL.
3.
Apply
RF
power.
4.
Make
measurements.
WARNING
Never
attempt
to
connect
or
disconnect
RF
equipment
from
the
transmission
line
while
RF
power
is
being
applied.
Leaking
RF
energy
is
a
potential
health
hazard.
WARNING
Refer
to
the
supplied
load
manual
for
load
‐
specific
warnings
and
cautions.
CAUTION
Maximum
power
dissipation
is
severely
reduced
when
the
blower
is
not
running.
If
the
indicator
light
should
turn
off,
immediately
reduce
RF
power
by
75%.
