7 TECHNICAL MAINTENANCE 

 

7.1 Safety 

Prior to start of installation, it is recommended to get familiar with the following 

requirements and meet them:  

 

controller cannot be used for purposes other than intended;  

 

controller shall not be used in premises:  

а)

 

with high concentration of dust,  

б)

 

tending to be affected by high electromagnetic interferences,  

в)

 

with high humidity,  

г)

 

tending to be affected by direct sun rays,  

д)

 

with flammable gases environment.  

 

it is recommended to use additional protection equipment to protect the boiler 

and installation from damages in case of controller failure or errors in the software; AIR 
BIO PID cannot be used as the only one barrier from excessive temperature rise in the 
boiler  and  from  fire  return  to  the  retort.  Therefore,  it  is  strongly  recommended  to  use 
additional  protection  equipment,  for  instance,  STB  safety  thermostat  and  additional 
retort protection – the system of filling fuel tank with water, etc. 

 

7.2 Safety Fuse Replacement 

Prior to replacement of safety fuses in the controller one should make sure that it 

is deenergized. 

The  safety  fuse  contact  socket  is  located  on  the  controller  casing.  The  fuse 

holder reads "FUSE"(Picture 3). 

For replacement it is required to remove the fuse holder cover and then replace 

the safety fuse with the analogous one. 

 

7.3 Sensor Location 

Picture 1 illustrates the temperature sensors schematic diagram.  

Boiler Temperature Sensor

 shall be put into the dry immersion sleeve on the 

boiler. In case of lack of mounting seat in the boiler the sensor shall be installed on the 
boiler feed pipe; one shall install it in such a way to retain the close contact with heat 
source. For obtaining correct temperature readings the sensor shall be insulated from the 
environment by being encased for warmth-keeping with non-combustible material.  

Hot Water Temperature Sensor

 shall be put into the dry immersion sleeve on 

the boiler.  

Basket  Temperature  Sensor 

shall  be  installed  on  the  pellet  receiver,  in  the 

sensor mounting seat.  

Flue Gas Temperature Sensor

 shall be installed in the boiler baffler.
