GENERAL OPERATING, INSTALLATION, AND SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

Intended uses

Your extractor hood meets current safety regulations. Inappropriate uses can result in bodily injury or property
damage. The extractor hood is exclusively intended for household use. The manufacturer is not liable for losses
incurred due to inappropriate use or incorrect operation. The manufacturer cannot be held liable for losses caused
by a failure to comply with safety instructions.

RISK OF INJURY

An extractor hood is not a toy! Make sure that the equipment is only used by persons who are physically and
mentally able to do so and who have the necessary knowledge and experience to operate the equipment
correctly and safely.

Technical Safety

The extractor hood left the factory in defect-free condition. You should nevertheless inspect the equipment for
visible damage before installation. Do not mount or install the extractor hood if you identify damage. If the
connecting line of the extractor hood is damaged it will need to be replaced by a trained technician in order to
avoid hazards. Only trained technicians are authorized to install (including the electrical connection), maintain,
and/or repair the extractor hood. The extractor hood must be disconnected from power by pulling the power
plug or by disabling the circuit breaker!

Improper installation, maintenance, or repairs can result in serious hazards to the user - for which the manufacturer
is not liable. Altering the electrical or mechanical systems is prohibited! Alterations can result in malfunctions of
the extractor hood.

Operating the extractor hood together with a fireplace supplied by ambient air

Fireplaces supplied by ambient air include gas, oil, wood, or coal-fired heaters, in-line heaters, hot water heaters,
hobs, or baking ovens that draw combustion air from the installation room and whose exhaust is routed to the
outside through a chimney.

RISK OF POISONING

A poisoning hazard is created due to sucked-in combustion gases when the extractor hood is operated at the
same time as a fireplace supplied by ambient air.

Risk-free operation is possible when the negative pressure in the installation room of the fireplace does not exceed
4Pa (0.04 mbar). This can be achieved when the makeup air required for combustion is supplied by non-locking
openings, e.g. in windows, doors, in combination with a makeup air/exhaust air wall sleeve or by other technical
means. Sufficient makeup air must be provided at all times. A makeup and/or exhaust air wall sleeve by itself does
not ensure compliance with the threshold value.

NOTE:

Before installing the extractor hood, you should always consult your competent chimney sweep specialist

to assess your personal ventilation conditions. There are generally no restrictions when operating the equipment
strictly in recirculating air mode.

Special instructions for gas stoves

The national statutory regulations (e.g. TRGI) must be observed when installing the equipment over gas stoves.
The respectively applicable installation regulations and instructions from the gas stove manufacturers must be ob-
served. When installing the equipment, ensure that only one side of the extractor hood is in the immediate vicinity
of a wooden cabinet and/or wall, since a risk of overheating is created otherwise. The minimum clearance to the
wall or cabinet is 50 mm.

BURN INJURY RISK

Never operate several gas burners at the same time at the maximum heat setting for more than 15 minutes.
The heat buildup from the stove top can result in a burn injury hazard when contacting the housing surfaces!

Large burners with more than 5 kW correspond approximately to the output of two gas burners. The hood can
potentially be damaged due to overheating.

Never operate a gas burner without positioning cookware on top, and place the cookware so that the flame
does not extend beyond the cookware.
