SAFETY INFORMATIONS
•
If you remove the ignition key before repairing, you can prevent the engine from being started
accidentally and resulting in engine damage and personal injuries.
•
This manual serves as a brief guide and does not replace a workshop manual. Always refer to
the vehicle-specific service literature, particularly the technical data such as torque values and
instructions for disassembly/assembly, etc.
ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION
Recycle unwanted materials instead of disposing of them as waste. Packaging should be
sorted, taken to a recycling centre and disposed of in a manner which is compatible with
the environment. Contact your local solid waste authority for recycling information.
CLEANING THE SEALING SURFACE IN THE CYLINDER HEAD
1. Choose an appropriate cylinder head sealing surface cutter (1-5),
important criteria for choosing are:
•
Diameter of injector chamber
•
Shape and size of the sealing surface
2. If you be unsure in the choosing of the sealing suface cutter, please get
the appropriate information from a vehicle specific service literature.
3. Slide the sealing suface cutter onto the guide mandrel (7) and fix it with
screw, using the Allen key (9).
4. Insert cutter with guide mandrel into the injector chamber (A) until the
cutter rests on the sealing surface (B).
5. Rotate the sealing suface cutter with the T-handle (6) in a clockwise
direction and thereby exert a slight pressure on the sealing surface
cutter.
6. Take out the sealing surface cutter in between and check if the sealing
surface is free of deposits.
7. If the sealing surface is completely clean, use a new injector seal and re-
install the injector.
CLEANING THE SEALING SURFACE ON THE INJECTOR
1. Slide the injector sealing surface seat cutter (8) onto the injector until the cutter rests on the
sealing surface (A).
2. Use the socket wrench (6) to turn the cutter clockwise until the seat is clean.
3. Check sealing surface before installation.
4. The sealing surface must no longer show any combustion or other residues.
Note:
The old sealing ring must not be reused, so use a new sealing ring when assembling!
This is the only way to ensure correct sealing!
