Before reassembling the engine, a series
of important controls must be carried out
to ensure correct functioning of the engi-
ne. The bearings must be replaced if they
play or get jammed during rotation. It is
however recommended to refer to the pe-
riodical maintenance table.
In order to insert the bearings in the
crankcase halves, bring the crankcase hal-
ves to a temperature of 150°C and keep
them at that temperature for 20 minutes.
Place the crankcase halves on a large sur-
face where their whole seal surface can
rest. When the bearings cool off, they
drop into their seats on their own.
