8.5 Configuring the System
Only configure blood pumps and cannulae that are being used. Deviat-
ing settings could lead to the patient receiving insufficient support.
If there is no way of adjusting insufficient driving unit settings, take al-
ternative corrective actions immediately. Possible corrective actions
could be supplying the patient with the manual pump or switching to an-
other driving system.
Audible alarm signals are only emitted during the start test and when
the blood pumps are in automatic operation. An audible alarm is not
emitted in single-step mode or when one or both blood pumps are
stopped. The driving unit must thus be monitored in such cases.
Otherwise, alarms could be noticed too late or not at all.
Check the blood pumps and cannulae for full de-airing before A

op-
eration. Perform individual steps to de-air and check the system.
8.5.1 Configuration Options - Overview
After switching on the system, the driving unit can be configured. Three options are
available.

A suitable configuration file is saved on the panel
PC or the USB stick.
Commissioning from a file makes sense if very
few parameters need to be changed. In particu-
lar, the BVAD, LVAD or RVAD operating mode
must be the same.

EPLACEMENT
The configuration file for the primary driving unit
is saved on the panel PC or the USB stick.
