Identifying Errors and Troubleshooting
en
When a
T5
alarm (
F
LOW
SENSOR
TOO
WARM
) or a
T6
alarm (
F
LOW
SEN
-
SOR
TOO
HOT
) occurs, the temperature of the flow sensor is too high.
Seek out a cooler environment immediately. Remove coverings that
could prevent heat dissipation (such as clothing or bed linens) from the
flow sensor.
In the event of a
T6
alarm (Flow sensor too hot), idisconnect the flow
sensor from both the driving unit and the cannula. Otherwise, there is
a risk of excessive heat being transferred to the blood. Once the sensor
has cooled off, it can be re-connected.
In the event of an
S7
alarm,
F
LOW
SENSOR
DEFECTIVE
, disconnect the
flow sensor from the driving unit. Defective flow sensors cannot reliably
detect excessively high temperatures,
When the system is in operation, the surface of the flow sensor warms slightly. Under
certain external conditions, the surface of the flow sensor may reach temperatures of
between 41 °C and 43 °C. Examples of such external conditions could be high ambi-
ent temperatures (above 38 °C) or a feverish patient. Covering the flow sensor, e.g.,
with clothing or a blanket, is an additional factor. Pediatric patients’ skin is particularly
sensitive. Avoid exposing patients’ skin to contact temperatures above 41 °C for more
than 10 min. If a flow sensor temperature alarm is emitted, protect the patient’s skin.
Follow the recommendations given in the warnings. This will prevent injury to the pa-
tient’s skin.
17.12 Errors without Messages
Not every error results in a system alarm. Defects related to the enclosure or a non-
functioning locking mechanism cannot be detected by the system.
Notify your contact person immediately if:
•
functions fail
•
there is any uncertainty regarding proper system functionality
•
damage is visible
•
Errors are not detected but are suspected, e.g. after the driving unit has fallen
from a height
Error
Removal
Panel PC does not respond to input.
Proceed in the following order when
rectifying the error
•
disconnect and reconnect the
USB cable. If the problem per-
sists:
•
switch the panel PC off and on. If
the problem persists:
•
replace the panel PC.
The panel PC user interface is frozen.
Mechanical error
Replace component.
Clamping or tight components
Notify contact person.
