5.2.3.7 Guiding the Driving Tube and the Flow Sensor Cable in the Cable Wrap

1.

Draw the cable wrap up from the
blood pump toward the driving
unit.

2.

Align the driving tube and sen-
sor cable.

3.

Insert the driving tube and the
sensor cable into the wrapping
tool.

4.

Attach the cable wrap to the
wrapping tool

5.

Slowly guide the wrapping tool
along the cable wrap with one
hand while grasping the cable
wrap with the other. Avoid creat-
ing tensile force on the blood
pump or the cannulae.

6.

At the end, guide the driving
tube and sensor cable out of the
wrapping tool. The sensor cable
will need to form a small loop by
the driving unit. The loop makes
plug insertions easier.

7.

Insert the flow sensor into the
corresponding connector. Make
sure to keep left and right in
mind.
