The user should start by first learning to make low, controlled jumps. Then, the user needs to learn
the position for a basic landing. Mastery of the basic jumps is an absolute requirement before
learning new jumping skills. Knowing your own limitations and bearing in mind your own progress
in terms of jumping ability are the most important lessons. A lack of basic skills and over-
confidence are the main causes of injury.
During private use, when BERG trampolines are set up in a house or back garden, the owner or
person in charge must ensure that young or inexperienced users only make use of the BERG
trampoline under the supervision of an experienced person who familiarizes the users with the
instructions and can ensure that the instructions are followed by the users. This also means that
during periods without supervision, the BERG trampoline must be dismantled or use must be
prevented in some other way.
If you would like more instructions about using the BERG trampoline or about jumping techniques,
it is advisable to contact a trampoline instructor or a club.
Furthermore, the following instructions need to be taken into account:
1. Only 1 person at a time is permitted to make use of the BERG trampoline.
2. Only jump on the BERG trampoline with bare feet, socks or gym shoes.
3. Before starting to jump, remove glasses, chains, ornaments, clasps and other sharp
objects and empty your pockets.
4. No objects or persons are allowed to be underneath the BERG trampoline.
5. Never do somersaults! This can lead to serious back or neck injuries.
6. Do not use the BERG trampoline as a springboard to another object.
7. Do not use the BERG trampoline under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
8. Children and novices must always jump under the supervision of an experienced
person.
9. Do not use the BERG trampoline in the dark.
10. Do not smoke while using the BERG trampoline.
11. Do not put any objects on the BERG trampoline.
12. Pets are not allowed on the BERG trampoline, to avoid damage to the protective
surround or the canvas by paws or sharp claws.
Jumping and jumping techniques
In trampolining, moving properly requires good posture. The right posture and balance are
achieved by tensing the muscle joints.
Good posture makes safe trampolining possible. When jumping, the body is exposed to shocks
that need to be correctly absorbed. By tensing your muscles, you obtain better control over your
balance and the jumping and rebounding strength of the body increases. On the other hand, a
more relaxed posture leads to loss of energy and jumping and rebounding strength decreases.
Also follow these instructions:
1. Always jump in the middle of the canvas. Look intently at the trampoline and focus on the
middle of the canvas. This helps you to find the right balance and keep control over your
body. Avoid jumping on the edge of the canvas and on the protective surround.
2. Do not jump any higher before you have established good control and balance and can
keep to the middle of the canvas without difficulty.
