Inspection
Prior to measurements, the sound level meter has to be inspected:
• Remove the battery case cover (7)
• Switch on instrument
• Select CAL via the Sliding switch MEAS/CAL (5)
• Adjust the adjustment screw (6) by means of a screwdriver until
the displayed value remains at 94 dB.
This adjustment is carried out with an internal sinus-shaped fre-
quency of 1kHz.
• Select MEAS via the Sliding switch MEAS/CAL (5)
• Replace the battery case cover (7)

Battery Replacement
The Sound level meter is equipped with an integrated battery capacity
display. Hereby, the battery capacity is periodically checked and shown
as follows.
Only batteries in compliance with the technical data section may
be used
• Remove the battery case cover (7)
• Remove old batteries
• Insert the new batteries by respecting the correct polarity.
• Replace the battery case cover (7)
Never try to short-circuit both battery poles using a wire, for ex-
ample. The resulting short-circuit current is extremely high and
causes enormous heat. Danger of fire and explosion!
Please consider your environment when you dispose of your one-
way batteries or accumulators. They belong in a rubbish dump
for hazardous waste. In most cases, the batteries can be retur-
ned to their point of sale.
If an instrument is not used over an extended time period, the ac-
cumulators or batteries must be removed. Should the instrument
be contaminated by leaking battery cells, the instrument has to
be returned for cleaning and inspection to the factory.
