Inserting / Removing the Drip Tray
The device is supplied with a drip tray (
e
) because espresso / coffee may drip from the porta-
fi lter (
d
) after the cup has been removed.
1. Insert the drip tray into the bottom of the device. Insert it at a slight angle so that the drip
tray can lock in place. Make sure that it fi ts correctly in the device.
2. Place the storage plate (
f
) on the drip tray.
3. To remove the drip tray, tilt it forwards slightly and carefully pull it out of the device.
Filling the Water Tank
1. Take the water tank (
h
) off the device by pulling it upwards.
2. Open the water tank lid (

3. Pour water into the water tank. Make sure that you fi ll it at least up to the
MIN
marking
and no higher than the
MAX
marking.
4. Close the water tank lid.
5. Insert the water tank into the device by sliding it into the device from above. Make sure that
the locking lugs of the water tank sit in the recesses which are provided for them on the device.
Inserting / Removing the Sieve Insert
1. Insert the corresponding sieve insert (
b / c
) into the porta fi lter (
d
). When you insert it,
make sure that the small locking lug on the sieve insert fi ts in the recess on the porta fi lter.
Otherwise the sieve insert cannot be inserted (

).
2. To remove the sieve insert from the porta fi lter, turn the locking lug on the sieve insert
towards the recess on the porta fi lter. Then pull the sieve insert out upwards.
Filling Sieve Inserts
1. After inserting the sieve insert in the porta fi lter (
d
) (see “Inserting / Removing the Sieve In-
sert”), use the measuring spoon (
a
) to fi ll it with espresso / coffee powder. With espresso /
coffee powder, make sure that the sieve insert is not over fi lled (note the
MAX
marking)!
2. Use the pressing aid (
a
) to press down the espresso / coffee powder in the sieve insert.
3. Remove excess espresso / coffee powder from the rim of the porta fi lter.
Inserting the Porta
fi
lter into the Device
1. Hold the fi lled porta fi lter (
d
) fi rmly by the handle and insert it under the label
INSERT
into the porta fi lter mount (

).
2. Turn the porta fi lter to the right until it is under the label
LOCK
.
