9. Functionality test
Press the Test/Mute button. The device works correctly, if the red light flashes fast and the
alarm sounds.
At this point, the device changes to the lowest sensitivity level and the red LED will flash every
10 seconds. After approximately 9 minutes, the device automatically changes to normal opera-
tion, or you can press the Test button to end the low sensitivity level.
Irregular or lower volume sounds may indicate a fault. Please refer to the chapter „Trouble-
shooting“ to solve the problem.
10. LED indicators
• The red LED flashes every 344 seconds: this indicates that the device works properly.
• The red LED goes on: when the Test button is pressed, or the device detects smoke particles
in the air (in addition, a constantly pulsating tone will sound), the LED flashes every second.
The flashing LED and the alarm continue until smoke particles can no longer be detected in
the air or the release button (Test button) is pressed.
• Not on sleep mode: when the smoke alarm device is in sleep mode (silent), the LED flashes
every 10 seconds.
• Low battery indicator: A temporary “tweeting” will sound and the LED will flash every 43 sec-
onds. This indicates that the battery is low. You can pause the alarm for 8 hours by pressing
and holding the Test button. The alarm switches on automatically after 8 hours.
• Fault indicator: the warning is shown every 43 seconds.
• Alarm memory: Once the alarm has sounded, the smoke alarm device saves the alarm. The
green LED flashes 3 times in quick succession every 43 seconds. In this way, the use can
recognise the alarm later from a distance without having to touch the smoke alarm device.
The LED indicator goes out after 24 hours. When you press the Test button for the first time
after an alarm, a special alarm signal will sound. After pressing the Test button, the alarm
memory will be deleted. Press the Test button again for another functionality test.
11. Silent alarm (quiet mode)
Press the Test button when the alarm sounds. This will pause the alarm for 9 minutes. The red
LED flashes every 10 seconds, which indicates that the smoke alarm device is in quiet mode
(silent).
The device was designed to minimise erroneous alarms. The alarm continues after about 9
minutes if burnt particles are still inside the device. The standby mode can be activated again
until there are no more particles in the air, which have caused the alarm.
CAUTION: Before using the quiet mode, identify the source of the smoke (cause of alarm) and
ensure that it no longer poses any danger.
DANGER: When the alarm sounds and you do not perform a test, it means that the device
detected smoke!
IF THE WARNING SIGNAL SOUNDS, YOU MUST IMMEDIATELY PAY ATTENTION TO IT
AND ACT!
12. Maintenance/cleaning
This includes at least one check that the smoke openings are not clogged (e.g., covers, ob-
struction through lint and dust), the smoke alarm device is not damaged in such a way that its
function may be impaired and an area of 0.5 m around the smoke alarm device is free from
obstacles (e.g.,: furniture), which may prevent smoke from penetrating into the smoke alarm
device. If dirt in the smoke openings is found, they must be cleaned according to the manu-
facturer‘s instruc-tions. If the smoke alarm device shows damage that will impair its function,
it must be replaced. If the required area around the smoke alarm device is not kept free from
objects, the installation location must be checked and a new one selected, if applicable.

13. Erroneous alarms
Erroneous alarms may be caused by:
welding and cutting, soldering and other hot works, sawing and grinding works, dust resulting
from the structure or cleaning, steam, vapours or cooking odours, extreme electromagnetic in-
fluences, temperature fluctuations that my cause condensation inside the smoke alarm device.
In case of works being performed in the vicinity of the installed smoke alarm device that may
trigger erroneous alarms (e.g., renovation works), the smoke alarm device should be temporar-
ily covered or switched off. When the works are completed, the functionality of the installed
smoke alarm device must be reset as described above.
If an alarm is triggered, please ensure your own safety first.
If you‘re not sure whether it is an erroneous alarm,
call the fire brigade from outside the building on fire.
14. WEEE disposal notes

pose of an unserviceable product in accordance with the relevant statutory regula-
