F-4.4) Conduit Box and Cable Assembly:
Refi ll with cooling oil as outlined in paragraph F-1.3. Position
conduit box (49) and square ring (21) over opening, apply
thread locking compound (38) to cap screws (23) threads and
torque to 16 ft. lb. Remove gland nuts (49B) and (49F), friction
rings (49C) and (49G), and grommets (49D) and (49H) from
conduit box (49) inspect and replace if required.(See Figure
9). Insert one friction ring (49C), grommet (49D), one friction
ring (49C) and gland nut (49B) into conduit box for power cable
(49A). For control cable (49E), insert grommet (49H), friction
ring (49G) and gland nut (49F). Torque gland nuts (49B) and
(49F) to 15 ft. lb. to prevent water leakage.
F-5) Base & Elbow Service:
To clean out base elbow (55) remove cap screws, clean-out
plates and gaskets from elbow (55). Inspect gaskets and re-
place if damaged. If gasket (59) is damaged or leaking, remove
hex nuts (58) and lockwashers (57) and lift pump assembly
from base elbow (55). To replace gasket (54) on 4DSE-L pump
models, disassemble volute as outlined in paragraph F-2.1.
Then remove screws (52) and adapter (53).
Reassemble by placing gasket (54) and adapter (53) on volute
(43) with screws (52). Reassemble volute onto pump assembly
as outlined in paragraph F-2.2. Place gasket (59) onto base
elbow (55). Assemble lockwashers (57) and hex nuts (58) onto
studs (56) and tighten evenly. To replace gasket (54) on
4DSE-HL pump models, remove pump from elbow as outlined
above. Remove screws (52) and adapter (53). Reassemble by
placing gasket (54) and adapter (53) on volute (43) with screws
(52). Place gasket (59) onto base elbow (55). Assemble
lockwashers (57) and hex nuts (58) onto studs (56) and tighten
evenly.
