2.20     Fault flow chart

Fault symptom 
  - Bad or missing function of DVB-S module 
 
Possible cause 
  - Defect connection to the LNB on the  
    satellite dish 
  - Defect DVB-S module 
  - Defect cable W08, W28, W27, W26

Note: 
By means of ServiceTool it is possible to: 
- Download customer settings to a PC 
- Upload customer settings to DVB-S module 
- Upload application software to DVB-S module 
 
Before RESET TO DEFAULT is made or module 
990 is replaced, try to save customer settings to 
a PC 
 
Further description can be found in ServiceTool

Press DTV on Beo4 

Is it possible to find 
any kind of satellite 

signal?

Turn TV into standby 

and on again two 

times 

 

Is it possible to find 
any kind of satellite 

signal?

Check cable to the LNB 

on the satellite dish 

OK?

Reconnect cable to the 

LNB on the satellite 

dish

Press DTV and GREEN 

on Beo4. Choose 

SETUP - INSTALLATION 
and then press 0 0 GO 

Choose MODULE 

INFO. Is it possible to 

read out SW version?

Go to 

TV SERVICE MENU - 

MONITOR 

INFORMATION

Step back and go to 

RESET TO DEFAULT 

(this is only on DVB-S) 

Press GO, and make 

the installtion of  

DVB-S

Is it possible to read out the following 

software and hardware versions? 

 

IC 505 DVB FEB SW  .3 

IC 20 DVB SW m  0.0.0.0 

IC 20 DVB SW v  0.0.0.0 

IC 20 DVB HW m  0.0.0.0 

IC 20 DVB HW v  0.0.0.0

If the above procedure 

does not help, carry on 

with the following

flexible PCB between 

P403 and 404 on

Confirm DC supply to
