Restoring an application image

This procedure restores data previously saved inside an Image archive. These files are identified by

the “_img.zip” string at the end of their name (see “Creating an application image” for more info).

Since all the application files are stored inside this archive (configuration, database, customized files

and software), this procedure creates a complete clone of the “photographed” system .

However, the legal status of the device introduces a limitation on this procedure:

Legal Status

Only an image archive created on the
same device can be used to restore
data (a control is made on that before
starting the procedure)

Every image archive can be used
(created on the same device or on
another one)

Obviously, before starting the procedure the image archive has to be available inside the Skynet
device. This means the file shall be copied on one of the available memories to be sure the
procedure can find this when required (see

“Appendix

Appendix A: The Available

Memory Devices

NOTE: do not start the procedure if the image archive is not available on the
device.

NOTE: the current data will be permanently deleted and replaced by the
stored ones.
